Black Stars head coach Avram Grant has shrugged off comments regarding the lack of local representation in the national team .
Grant currently has three locally based players in the squad namely Samuel Tetteh,Fatau Dauda and Richard Ofori.
He stated that the nation’s best interests were considered when players are picked to represent the country.
“People can always say what they want but I need to do my job and that is to do a good job with the Black Stars.
“My job was to take the country away from the trauma of the World Cup and that’s what we are focused on.
“More than ninety five percent of players that are good for the Black Stars don’t play in Ghana for a number of reasons which include financial and developing their game.
“I need to spend time to watch these players and even now I didn’t watch as many of them as I would have liked.
“I saw more than 10 games in the country but I don’t calculate how much time I spend here.
“If I need to be in Ghana 365 days then that’s what I will do but if I need to be abroad to help the nation then that’s what I will do,” he told some pressmen.
