The brother and lawyer to the Assin central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Lawyer Ralph Agyapong has said the Asogli Palace have made up their mind to embarrass his brother and client after inviting him to their program.
If it will be recalled, Kennedy Agyapong had turned up at the Asogli Palace at Ho-Bankoe on Friday to pay homage to the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, a day prior to the Te Za (yam festival) durbar, but he was not allowed to do so.
His gift to the Agbogbomefia was rejected.
Left with no other option, Kennedy Agyapong who was seen sitting close to the Volta Regional NPP Chairman, Kafui Woanya, then waved good-bye to a section of the gathering and left the palace.
HoweverIn an interview on Accra based Radio Station, Okay Fm Monitored by Voicefmonline.com, Lawyer Ralph said it appears after he went for the program, the palace decided to embarrass him.
He referred to the letters released by the palace after they rejected his gifts as an afterthought because they felt he was embarrassed.
Lawyer Ralph says he does not see the reason why they were referring to an old issue which happened so many years ago.
Lawyer Ralph says Hon Kennedy Agyapong was invited to the program so he is in the state of shock why they decided to embarrass him.
He further asked that, one thing he does not understand is whether the person who invited Hon. Kennedy did not inform Togbe Afede because they used the Palace letter head.
