An economist, Dr. Dr. Christopher Ampadu is calling on all traders to start reducing their products since dollar and fuel prices are all dropping.
Some leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reduced prices of some petroleum products at the pumps.
Market leader, GOIL, reduced more than 8% reduction in fuel prices while It has lashed the price of diesel by ¢1.50 to now sell at ¢14.60 per litre.
On the other hand, petrol is now selling at ¢12.40 per litre, representing a decline of ¢1.
However, the Director for Samaritan Strategy in West Africa, Dr. Dr. Christopher Ampadu says it seems though when the dollar and fuel prices increased, the traders increased their products drastically, on the other hand, the traders have refused to reduce their products when the dollar and cedi started dropping.
He says he feels Ghanaians are being wicked to themselves, and added that if Ghana will develop, it wouldn’t be based on IMF though they can support but they cannot develop the nation for Ghanaians.
He states that Ghanaians should remember that when they refer to politicians as corrupt they should also remember that those traders who have refused to reduce their products are also corrupt and that wouldn’t be different from Politicians.
