Atwima Kwanwoma MP Kojo Appiah-Kubi has revealed that a contract has been awarded for roads in the constituency to be reconstructed.
According to him, the contract was awarded to Nato Construction by the previous government, however the project had not been done.
His comments follow concerns raised by some residents of his constituency about the deplorable state of roads in the constituency.
Some of the livid residents who spoke on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Wednesday June 21 threatened not to vote for Mr Appiah-Kubi in the next elections because he had failed to lobby for the roads to be fixed.
But reacting to these claims in an interview with show host Jerry Forson, the MP said: The contract has been awarded to Nato Construction but the contractor has failed to do a good job. I will appeal to the media to ask the contractor why he hasn’t commenced work yet [in some instances].
“Every single road in Kwanwoma has been awarded to the contractor and I have explained to the people but it appears some of them have a personal score to settle with me and so they are instigating this confusion.”
