A 33-year-old man, Edward Boafo has burnt the foot of his seven-year-old son, Kwame Boafo, for allegedly consuming stew meant for the entire family.
Nkwa FM’s Prince Odoom reported on Tuesday, 19 February 2019 that the Assin Fosu District court presided over by His Worship, Samuel Djanie Kotey, remanded Mr Boafo in police custody to reappear in court on 19 March 2019.
Prosecuting, Inspector Gilbert Ayongo told the court that on Thursday, 14 February 2019, the accused returned from work only to discover that the stew that had been reserved for the whole family had been eaten.
The accused, who suspected his seven-year-old son of eating the stew, confronted the boy but he denied consuming the stew.
Not satisfied with the answers he had been given, the suspect put one leg of the boy on fire with the hope that he would unravel the truth.
However, the suspect ended up rather burning the foot of the boy who is currently with the social welfare and receiving treatment.
