240x_mg_yt_john_dramani_mahama_2009[1]Folks, very interesting things are happening in our time. In fact, things are stumbling over each other too rapidly to attract our attention.

President Mahama has delivered very hefty rhetorical punches to daze those insulting him at will, especially those who know no other derogatory word than incompetent” to bandy about. He hit them right where it hurts and they have flinched but not been able to clinch!!

Just take a brief look at their reaction to President Mahama’s reaction to their action and you should know how his rebuffing their insults really hurts them:

1. “The calm, measured Mahama is not the one we heard–Oppong Nkrumah”

(NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ofoase/Ayirebi says he was shocked by the scathing attack President John Mahama launched on the party and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah said it was surprising that the President berated his political opponents for calling his administration incompetent.
MY QUESTION: So, because President Mahama is naturally “calm” and “measured”, he shouldn’t react to those insulting him? In any case, he didn’t insult Dr. Bawumia. He simply made nonsense of his characterization of him (President Mahama) as incompetent. His choice of words was apt for the occasion. No counter-insults. He remains “cam” and “measured” and should remain focused on his job in the highest office of the land.

2. The NPP is not as violent as claimed by President Mahama

MY REACTION
Really? A very loud and explosive “Tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaa” to their faces!! If the other name for the NPP is not “violence”, then, what else is? Do these people even know the history of their political tradition? Tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaa again!!!

COURT CASES TO UNSETTLE THE NPP ALL THE MORE

Meantime, the “tsunami” is gathering more momentum to throw the Kapwewe and his gang of intolerant followers into disarray. Just two moments:

1. “Phillip Addison sues NPP; demands fresh elections”

Counsel for the petitioners in the 2013 Presidential petition, Phillip Addison, has sued the NPP at the High Court, demanding annulment of Korle Klottey parliamentary primary results.

Mr. Addison and another, Nii Adjei Tawiah say the elections on August 2 which was won by Valentino Nii Noi Nortey were illegal.
According to them, more than half of the delegates were disenfranchised, and that the organisation of the elections was in violation of the tenets of democratic principles that are supposed to govern the elections. They also claim there was no accreditation and that the register that was used was not certified.

The election, they say, violated article 55 of the New Patriotic Party”s constitution. The petitioners are asking the court to declare that the election was an illegality.

Any reflection on the circumstances surrounding the useless petition hearing that Addison pursued with much vigour and determination all to no avail? He is now serving the same dose of medicine to his own party. Is Akufo-Addo ever going to see things in their right perspective to know how to manage his own party?

2. Paul Afoko heads to court this Friday to fight the “illegalities” leading to his being overthrown as the NPP’s National Chair. Even though I know he won’t succeed (apparently because of the rot in the Judiciary that favours the NPP—Don’t ask me to explain anything because it is obvious. Once the NPP leaders can tell us that they have friends in the Judiciary to fight their cause, we know what the entailments are).

Afoko is wasting his time. Now that he is going to court, he should be prepared for the final blow to land on him, which is his expulsion from the NPP. Why can’t he just leave this Asante-Akyem political cabal to save his skin and personal integrity (whatever is left of it as of now)?

BOTTOMLINE OF ALL THESE EVENTS
President Mahama has really stood up to his detractors, raising issues that will for long engage their attention and take them into a new direction altogether for the worse.

Philip Addison’s suit won’t succeed, which will annoy him and his followers to ready themselves for Election 2016.

Afoko and his followers all over the country won’t take the damage done him and will find potent—really potent and harmful—ways to harm the Kapwepwe’s interests. It is already up in the air!!

As for me, I am happy at these developments and will continue to brace up for more. I am laughing all the way to town!!

I shall return…
