The Chief Linguist and Krontihene of Apromoase in the Ejisu-Juaben municipality of the Ashanti region have appealed to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to destool its chief for allegedly selling out cemetery and forest reserved by their forefathers.
According to them, the chief, Nana Brobey Ameyaw II does not consult them in anything he does in the community and does not account to the sub chiefs and his people.
The two sub-chiefs, Nana Kwame Adu-Amankwah, the Krontihene; and Nana Akomia Bonor, the chief linguist alleged that, the chief has sold an unspecified acres of land to a company with Ghs 350, 000 involved, but has not accounted to the sub chiefs and the residents in the community.
According to them, the chief since his enstoolment has not organised a single durbar to meet with the community, but what he only know was selling out of lands.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, May 18, the Krontihene of the town, Nana Kwame Adu-Amankwah said, the chief was approached concerning the development in the town by them, and advised to stop selling out the town’s forest reserve, but he took to an information centre and announced that, they have been destooled by him for telling him the truth.
He therefore appealed to Asantehene to destool the chief since he does not know traditions and customs of the community.
Some of the residents who spoke to Adehye FM’s Owoahene Addai munukum complained bitterly about the chief’s neglect of development issues in the town.
