Ghanaian rapper Edem has recommended President Nana Akufo-Addo choose from EIB Network CEO Nathan Kwabena Adisi Anokye, popularly known as Bola Ray, Ruddy Kwakye of Multimedia, and Nana Aba Anamoah of GHOne TV for the position of Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
Mr Akufo-Addo is expected to, in the coming weeks, announce his list of deputy ministers-designate as he puts his team together to run the affairs of the country for the next four years.
In Edem’s view, Bola Ray and Ruddy Kwakye, both stalwarts in radio, have shown excellent managerial skills in their works and will be best suited for role to help promote the creative arts industry in an unbiased manner.
Speaking on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday January 14, the award-winning rapper said somebody with managerial and administrative skills could be a better choice for the position rather than a person in the music or movie industry who will have factions to please.
“I think that if I have to recommend somebody, I will recommend somebody who is out of the music and movie business… You have to be really somebody who has managerial and administrative skills and so I’ll go for people with top administrative skills, like…I could recommend Bola Ray. He has been able to show tough managerial skills running a company. I could recommend somebody like Ruddy Kwakye – he’s been able to show tough administrative skills. I will…go for somebody like Nana Aba Anamoah, who has been able to show serious administrative skills. Aside working on TV, she has her own school, so I think people like that who have skills…,” he told show host DJ Premier.
“I would wish for an administrator because once the person is in the business, I think there are too many alliances of interest and close circles and who to benefit and that sort of thing, because the thing about production houses and music is that people have their factions and we need somebody who will represent us neutrally and not have any interest,” the Koene hit maker added.
Edem is out with two new songs Ride With Me, featuring Nigeria’s Seyi Shay, and Only You, featuring Afriyie of Wutah fame.
