Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah and his technical team have received their salaries for May, June and July, the Ministry of Youth and Sports [MoYS] has confirmed.
The former national team skipper was named for a second handling of the senior national team on April 4, 2017 on a two-year deal with a reported monthly earning of $35,000.
The payment will serve as morale booster for the 56-year-old and his technical team, who are preparing the Black Stars team B for a CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso and the WAFU Cup of Nations in September.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of MoYS, Elvis Adjei-Baah told Class Sports, “I can confirm to you that [MoYS] will today issue cheques covering the salary arrears of the Head Coach of Black Stars, Mr. Kwesi Appiah and his technical team.”
He added, “The cheques represent the salary arrears of May, June and July.”
