Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has been named team manager of the Black Stars.
This is Appiah’s first official assignment for the senior national team.
The former Fenerbahce star was the first captain to qualify the Black Stars to a FIFA World Cup. He also played in the 2010 edition of the competition in South Africa where Ghana made it to the quarterfinals.
In a related development, former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingson is expected to be named as goalkeeper’s trainer.
