The presidential nominee of the Independent Peoples Party (IPP) Kofi Akpaloo has picked nomination forms from the Electoral Commission to contest for the presidency in the December 7 elections.
He is the first to have picked the forms since the EC opened nominations today, 13 September 2016.
The form was sold for GHS50,000, a cost which has attracted flak from some political parties including the Peoples National Convention (PNC), the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
That of the parliamentary election is being sold at GHS10,000.
The filing of the nomination forms is expected to done by September 29 and 30, according to the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the EC, Yussif Alhassan Ayuba.
