Black Stars midfielder Christian Atsu has revealed the rationale behind the team’s goal celebrations at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations. The Stars are noted for unveiling a new dance at every tournament, with the 2017 tourney being no exception.
“You know our captain is very good with singing and dancing and always has a way of devising new things to calm all of us down ahead of our games. The one you see us do is captured in the words of Ghanaian singer Kofi Kinaata, which has captured the imagination of many a youth in Ghana,” he said.
“I think we all like it (Awurade Bεgye Steer no), so it went down well with all of us and that is how we have all decided to celebrate the goals we score at the competition.”
The Stars next play the Pharoahs of Egypt in a game that decides who tops Group D.
