Guinea-Bissau centre back Jaury spoilt the party for hosts Gabon when his header in the 90th minute beat goalkeeper Ovono to cancel a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 53rd minute strike in the opening game of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with the visiting team the happier side.
Aubameyang, who captained Gabon, brought life into the game after a disappointing first half when he opened the scoring in the 53rd minute by tapping home a pass across the face of goal from Bouanga.
Guinea-Bissau came close to equalising on 75 minutes but Rudinilson’s shot in the penalty area, following a corner from Zezinho, missed the goal narrowly.
Six minutes to full time, substitute Mendy’s brilliant header from a free kick was saved by Gabonese goalie Ovono, who was at the right place at the right time.
Juary equalised with a header in the 90th minute from a Zezinho free kick to salvage a point for the Nations Cup debutants.
Gabon will play their next game against Burkina Faso on Wednesday January 18, while Guinea-Bissau take on Cameroon the same day.
