Parliament’s Appointments Committee will today, Monday 27 March, vet Deputy Majority Leader Sarah Adwoa Safo, Minister of State nominee for Procurement, and three others.
The other three are Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister-designate for Tertiary Education; Dr Nura Gyiele, Minister-designate for Agriculture, and Brian Acheampong, Minister of State-designate at the Office of the President.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has so far named a total of 110 ministers, with 50 of them being deputy ministers – the largest number of ministerial appointments ever made by any Ghanaian leader.
The number of ministers has been criticised by a section of Ghanaians, but Mr Akufo-Addo believes the economic challenges he has inherited demand a large government to fix.
