The Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) on Thursday, 14 September 2017 demonstrated in Kumasi against telenovelas aired on Ghanaian screens.
The actors and producers argued that the telenovelas are destroying their business as their movies are not patronised or aired on television anymore.
According to them, the telenovelas have taken over the airwaves, destroying the Ghanaian culture and influencing, especially women and children, negatively.
Kumawood actor, Michael Afranie, who spoke to Accra100.5FM called on government to ban telenovelas and help promote local movies to also boost their business.
