Four persons have sustained injuries and have been admitted at the Manhyia Hospital following skirmishes between some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Aboabo lorry station in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Accra100.5FM’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Owoahene Addai Mununkum, reported that the NPP supporters, who were wielding offensive weapons, stormed the lorry station to take over the management of the facility following the victory of their party in the 2016 presidential elections only to be met with fierce opposition from some armed supporters of the NDC.
However, according to the reporter, police officers called to the scene to intervene looked on as the confrontation continued.
