Leaders and traditional authorities of Abbam and Adetem in Adieso of the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region on Wednesday, 6th September 2017 paid a courtesy call on First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo to thank her for sponsoring and renovating the clinic in Abbam.
The elders used the opportunity to request for healthcare assistance and the establishment or construction of nursing quarters.
They also noted that the road that links the Abbam town to other villages is in a dilapidated state and since Abbam is a cocoa growing area, requested the road be reconstructed.
They further asked for God’s blessing for the First Lady and the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and also prayed for a second term for the government.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Eugene Sackey, said he was grateful for the help granted to the people of Abbam because with the First Lady’s help, the Abbam Clinic is the second best health care centre in Adeiso District. He requested for an ambulance and a library centre for the district.
Mrs Akufo-Addo was grateful for their kind words and said the Akufo-Addo-led government would deliver on its promises. She promised to renovate the mud house classroom block at Adetem and encouraged them to embrace the Free SHS policy as it is for all Ghanaians.
