Adom FM’s news anchor, Nana Adjei Obrempong, aka Obrempong C P, has taken a swipe at some Ghanaian gospel artistes describing them as spiritually empty.
In an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment, the news caster said about 90 percent of the artistes are spiritually empty and needed spiritual baptism and revival to enable them produce songs that can win souls for Christ.
He said some of them have become quotation readers in their compositions than being creative in their art.
“I think about 90% of our “gospel artist” lack the Holy Spirit and anointing hence the kind of songs they sing. I think they also sound too empty spiritually and need Holy Spirit baptism and revival. I hate to hear those songs because they are too canal.”
He said the musicians were to be seen as Ministers of God through their music and desist from fashion making and other worldly things.
“Most gospel musicians are becoming too fashionista and lazy to be creative and only do ‘copy and paste songs. They lack the core component of the gospel such as salvation, repentance, the fear of God among others”, he fumed.
He cited some gospel artistes like Elder Mireku, Comfort Annor, Evangelist Diana Asamoah and a few others are preaching the gospel through their songs to win souls for Christ as well as changing the lives of the people and urged others to emulate their footsteps.
