The Government of Ghana has placed an embargo on the importation of some selected drugs to allow local companies produce them in the country.
The medicines include folic acid tablets (5mg), Gliben tablet (5mg), ferrous sulphate, ferrous fumarate, aspirin tablets (300mg).
A letter to that effect written to the Foods and Drugs Authority by the Minister of Health, Kweku Agyeman-Manu, read in part: “You are by this authorised to take the necessary steps to implement the Executive Instrument.”
