The 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League will kick off on February 4, 2017, with the GN Bank Division One League beginning a day earlier, February 3, 2017, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.
GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi revealed this at the FA’s extraordinary congress held in Accra on Wednesday January 4 2017.
In his opening address at the Congress, Mr Nyantekyi revealed that the season would be preceded by the traditional season-opening Super Cup, and the Gala competition, which is making a return after a 16-year hiatus.
The gala, which will feature Premier League clubs, will be played in Kumasi on January 28 and 29.
The Super Cup, between Premier League champions Wa All Stars and FA Cup winners Bechem United, will be played on the 22nd of January 2017 in Tamale.
