Three communities in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana have benefitted from new school buildings, which are aimed at improving the quality of education in those areas. The schools are the Amede Primary School, Akorabo Islamic Primary, and Mentemano Junior High School.
Until the buildings were constructed, teachers and pupils in these communities were teaching and learning, respectively, in deplorable wooden structures. Lessons were suspended each time it rained.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, who doubles as the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for Suhum, Margaret Ansei, handed over the new school buildings to the various communities.
During the handing over ceremony, she told the chiefs and people of the communities that President John Dramani Mahama is committed to developing those areas.
