The Honorable Member of Parliament for Assin Central has said any Politician who is rich without any side business is a thief
The legislator during an interview on Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation ‘s morning show, said Politicians are not expected to be rich without any side job
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong further explained that one job is not easy to make one rich but rather adding side jobs make supplementary income.
“You see, one job is not easy to make it, anytime that you are free, you should be doing something to get supplementary income”
According to him, people do not access the politicians during their normal lives before becoming or being given a position in the government.
“Look, you don’t access them, when they are coming during campaign, their shoes, sneakers, all the clothes they wear, when they are going, when they become ministers and they are leaving, look at the mansions they have”
“All rich politicians are thieves, read my lips, I’m a businessman but you can add me, we are all thieves”
The host asked the reason behind the provision for people to declare their assets before they assume office, the legislator classified that as rubbish and said Ghanaians are naturally born bad.
There is a provision for people to declare their assets before they assume public office “rubbish, rubbish, not you, what I’m saying is rubbish, I’m not saying you are rubbish but is rubbish, what provisions, I’ve told you we are naturally born bad”, Kennedy fumes.
