A Toyota Camry with registration number AS 5655 – 16 has been involved in an accident at Kyekyewere, a community along the Accra-Nsawam-Suhum highway in the Eastern Region.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 4.
The Camry run into a damaged trailer with registration number GR 5106 – P that was carrying a 20 footer container.
An eye witness told AccraFM.com that “the truck developed a mechanical fault in the middle of the road. The driver then used shrubbery instead of a triangle to warn oncoming vehicles of the accident.
“The driver of the Camry sustained injuries. He was rescued and rushed to Suhum Government Hospital where he has been on admission.
Road Safety Management Limited, which is the company contracted by government to clear broken down vehicles from the roads as part of the new mandatory tow levy regime, was on hand to move the truck off the road.
