Veteran actor Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye, has said many pastors have prophesied to him that he will one day become a pastor and do God’s work.
Waakye said it is not his wish to become a pastor and he has not received any sign from God yet, but the same prophecy keeps coming his way.
Speaking on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra100.5FM on Tuesday, 31 July 2018, Waakye recounted several encounters he had with people who prophesied to him.
He said: “It is not my wish [to become a pastor], God has not revealed anything to me up to now but I can’t tell if at the right time God will reveal himself to me, but for so many years now, many pastors have said God has revealed to them that I’ll do His work. Those days I thought it was a joke, so I asked myself: who am I to do God’s work because I’m not righteous.
“Before I even got sick, four pastors said it again, that; the spirit God has given me is not small, and, so, I should not play with God.”
The Akan Drama star continued: “Sometime ago, I was at the beach when a man told me that God said, I should open up and do His work because the power He has given me is great, everything that I’ll say will come true, so, I should try and start doing His work. The man showed me what to do and left.
“Again, I went to a church, it was a watchnight service and the pastor said there is a big pastor who has come here and he must reveal himself. The pastor said it a number of times but I didn’t go forward, no one also went…”
He further added that: “A lady pastor also called me and told me that the power God has given me, I shouldn’t joke with it because, it’ll get to a time that I can bring the dead back to life. I asked myself: am I Jesus Christ? I didn’t do anything then, but now, I have started Bible school”.
Waakye is expected to graduate from Bible School in 2020.
