Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has revealed he is delighted the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the party are winning the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Provisional results trickling in from the various polling stations across the country have put the NPP’s leader in the lead, ahead of his main contender, John Mahama, of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking to Kwame Tutu on Election Train on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM in relation to the development, the former president said his prediction that Mr Akufo Addo would win the elections had come through and that excited him most.
Incidentally, Mr Kufuor is celebrating his 78th birthday.
He said, “Factually, Nana Addo is winning the elections. I am not the one declaring any results because the results coming in show that Nana Addo is winning.
“I am extremely happy. I am a happy man.”
