Former Black Star midfielder Michael Essien has sealed a one–year move to Indonesia side Persib Bandung.
The Asian club announced on Tuesday 14 March that they have signed the former Chelsea player.
“Welcome! @MichaelEssien is officially a member of #PERSIB’s big family,” a statement from the club read on Tuesday evening Indonesian time.
Essien will become the highest paid player in Indonesia with a reported 800,000 Euros a year salary and the biggest signing for the club as well as the biggest name to play in the Indonesia top-flight league this season.
The 34-year old was available on a free transfer after leaving Greek side Panathinaikos at the end of the season.
