Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has appealed to Ghanaian football fans to return to support the Black Stars in their matches.
Support for the Black Stars has dwindled over the last few years following the appearance fee saga in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Although the players have apologised on numerous occasions to Ghanaians, the passion and support for the national team is still low.
Speaking to the press after their training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday October 4, ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Uganda on Friday, Agyemang-Badu said: “We are just appealing to the fans that without them we can’t move on. I’m sure that the fans will soon come back. It’s just a matter of time,” adding: “I know they will surely come back to support us. We are always worried about the fans’ failure to turn up for Black Stars matches of late but I am sure they will come back.”
Ghana will play Uganda on Friday October 7 at the Tamale Sports Stadium in a bid to qualify for a fourth straight World Cup.
