Deputy Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), George Krobea Asante, has hailed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the just-ended presidential primary as a testament to the party’s strength.
Speaking on ‘Anɔpa Bofoɔ’ on Monday, February 2, 2026, he described it as “a sweet victory” for Bawumia, considering the tough competition he faced.

He emphasized that Bawumia’s win sets the stage for the NPP’s success in the 2028 elections, with Bawumia poised to become president in 2029.
“We will have more than two years of campaigning, and we will ensure that the NDC is held accountable for their promises,” he said.
In contrast to the NDC’s unfulfilled promises, Krobea Asante urged the party to stop overestimating their power, stating, “The NPP is poised to win power in the 2028 elections with Bawumia set to become president in 2029.”
