Ghanaian forward Afriyie Barnieh has completed a move to Swiss Challenge League side FC Aarau on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the second-tier outfit following his departure from FC Zurich, where he left by mutual consent.
Barnieh initially joined Zurich in January 2023 from Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak, penning a three-and-a-half-year deal.
He went on to make 50 appearances in all competitions for Zurich, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
Despite those contributions, Barnieh struggled to cement a regular starting role, leading to the termination of his contract and his switch to Aarau as he seeks to revive his career in the Swiss second division.
